catching up

Before Christmas I bought my first book about crochet and ... my sister-in-law got as a wedding present a white lace shawl based on Doris Chan pattern from Amazing Crochet Lace. It took me four months to make it and I had to adapt the instructions to suit the fine cotton and smalll hook but at the end it was worth it. It looked great on Sarah's shoulders. The pattern was very easy to remember and I can imagine that If I used the suggested 5.5mm hook it would have been finish in few weeks instead of four months. I'm already picking another project from the same book.

Yes it has been a long time since I updated my blog. My excuse is that I had too many deadlines for uni. But now all that is finished so I'M BACK!
Of course I never really stopped crafting, we did manage to watch telly in the evenings and that is when I crochet or knit. I tried to do cross stitch but as a beginner I have do concentrate on what I'm doing so unable to follow CSI at the same time. Yes CSI (all of them) are one of our favourite programmes on television.
So what I was doing lately between the shawl and socks was a set in my favourite colour - purple. I made cover for my iPod, sock for my mobile and the latest addition is a change bag.

Yes I got the socks bug ... my husband is proudly wearing the first pair I made on set of double pointed needles (well, he wore them once and then treasured them for a week before putting them in a washing, he wasn't sure how delicate they are - isn't the just sweet?!.
So now friend on mine would like a pair of socks for her birthday at the end of June. This time I'm learning from a book by Melissa Morgan-Oakes 2-at-a-time-socks and so far not so good, I'm on my third attempt. The first one were too big. The second pair fallen to bits after I managed to pull the long circular needle apart - yes now I know I have to push the stitches along not to pull the needle.
Now I'm on my third attempt and as you can see for your self, I have the laddering on both socks. I'm not happy. It doesn't matter how tight the yarn is before and after the needle change it is still visible. help!

I knitted and knitted and ... finished and posted the giraffe. It is based on pattern in Itty Bitty toys book which was GREAT present from Sally for Christmas ... of course i had to change it little. It is stripy (yes i like stripes) and the pompoms were too easy to pull a part as i made it from cotton so another little change. It came out ok and it already emigrated to Czech Republic. I hope the birthday girl will on her first birthday enjoy this stripy creature.

I suffer from pain ... headache, joints pain, all over pain .... it affect my everyday life. I simply don't know what more i can do. I take painkillers, i go for walks, i sleep even during the day to get by, I drawn the pain in hot bath but the pain is still in my life

Path of life

My life path got very tangled and it is not even heading in the same direction as the "right path of my life" ....

Eynsham Yarn Club

Our Yarn Club got little bit smaller, just three of us in our local pub with crochet hook, knitting needles and all colours and types of yarn ... what a nice evening in a very creative company.

We all read papers or magazines but what do you pick up on. This is what popped up at me one day in one paper - why is our society so dark? How can you be positive when there is so much bad stories?

I loved those black and white images and started this page without any intentions, i just kept doing it and it ended up as an expedition to my frozen heart.

Third diary

I'm starting diary No.3. I will use all media and will not limit myselt to just one colour or style - new experinces ...

I truly can't believe that i never managed to keep a diary and in last 7 months I fill 2!

new diary

Yes I'm still struggling with depression. I know it is up to me to get out of this black hole but it is really hard. I don't do page in my diary everyday as I'm trying to do other things but my diary is still my escape, my way to express what I'm feeling inside without use of worlds.

wonderful white stuff

I love snow and I'm loving our current weather. Our village is little bit cut off - the buses now go around instead of through but my hubby is managing ok to drive to work and I'm loving being snowed in. I built a proper snowman in our garden and yesterday he fallen over but it is snowing today again so i think I'll outside later building another one :-) Yes I'm an adult but the snow put smile on my face and i just have to.

christmas ornaments swap

I received christmas ornaments swap parcell all the way from New York. What a nice parcel - thank you thank you thank you. And as soon as my parcel arrive in Las Vegas i post photos of what i posted.

Our chinchilas are so cute. As wild mouse was recently visiting our house they were not allowed out of the cage but tonight they are going for run - they don't know it yet :-) Usually they run and jump around in our hall and they love to sit on top of the yellow pages and just munch on everything they come across.

I went through some old photos and ... i just love nature, the colours, the contrasts & the beauty.
